NURSING LEADERSHIP
Carol Head’s path to success began when she completed a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix and she has since dedicated over forty years to the healthcare sector, where she has focused on maternal child nursing.
Throughout her long and established career, Carol has maintained an unrivalled commitment to nursing and has used her accomplishments and expertise to improve the quality and proficiency of women’s healthcare. Carol also maintains excellent leadership abilities, using her enthusiasm and dedication to build relationships in teams of nurses and physicians, enabling a higher standard of care to ensue.
With a natural aptitude for strong and competent leadership, Carol has made this the core focus of her lifelong work and has strategically developed her role as a Senior Nursing Leadership Consultant in the field of ‘Operational Leadership’ for women’s services. Working with a multitude of reputable organizations that deliver between 1300-5000 births each year, Carol was the driving force behind significantly increased standards of care and her efforts resulted improved satisfaction across the board as well and cost and time reductions and greater practice efficiency.
Contributing to this outstanding success was Carol’s drive to develop positive working relationships throughout all areas of healthcare services, with this inspiring her to lead a renowned initiative to improve nursing professionalism. Her dedication to this objective resulted in over half of nursing staff receiving an OB certification and each staff member achieving a fetal monitoring certification. Carol also dramatically improved healthcare departments by encouraging cross-training throughout units which simultaneously reduced the requirement for agency nurses. She took this even further still by focusing her attention on reducing OB anesthesia waiting times and collaborating with the anesthesia department to bring waiting times down and improve patient satisfaction by 20%.
As well as being a full-time businesswoman, Carol is still dedicated to the healthcare sector and allocates time in her busy schedule to supporting women’s health-related charities – particularly those associated with breast-cancer awareness. She is also a member of National Association of Professional Women, Association of Women’s Health AWHONN and Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing. In addition, Carol serves as The Village P.R.O.J.E.C.T.S. liaison for medical volunteer placement through Becky’s Foundation, an NGO in Senya Beraku, Ghana, more information regarding the organization can be found at beckysfoundation.org.
